Im trying to use this with a Windows7 laptop.After the install and before opening the VZAccess Manager, place the device in the port and wait for Windows to notify you that the drivers are installed and device is ready to use. Please help.I have a lot of pics on this phone that are memories and I would like to copy them onto my desktop. I have also tried installing BitPim on my system but that isnt helping either.It says a DLL file is missing even when it is present in the folder.

I tried installing the V Cast Media Manager but when i go to pictures in it and select add pics from the phone says my phone is not connected eventhough it is and there is no option for LGVX5600 in the dropdown of the help manual on "how to connect your phone".
Welcome to the new world of digital wizadry. Gee, three downloads/installs, and still can't get it all. So, as menitoned in previous post, I am now spending another 15 minutes downloading a VZ app and expect to have all sorts of fun installing, configuring, testing and transferring a single set of data.I gather from other posts there's another app (BitPim) that will transfer some other data sets (but not all). I'm so glad that we've come this far since the good old DOS days. So after spending an hour with that unrewarding effort, I see I can now send my pics somewhere else than then resend them back to my PC (via SAVE FILE). I already have mobile access to the internet (wi-fi). Just creates a "modem" in Control Panel/System/Hardware Devices. There is, indeed, a CDMA USB modem driver for the VX5600 (released Jan 2011).

Got upgrade (LG VX5600) with USB data cable and was promised easy transfer of pics from phone to PC. I had an older unit that I couldn't get pictures off phone.period. It is truly amazing that we fall for the hype of various mobile devices. If you want Music, Calendar or SMS BitPim will do. This is a great alternative to having to select LG-VX9100 in BitPim. I don't see any COM ports or devices to select, or any other way connect to phone other than "Scan for Devices" from the File menu. and it automatically detected my VX5600 phone. New version still took 15 minutes to download, but less time to install (it only did 5 device drivers and no hidden windows)

Then did update within V CAST Media Manager, from its Help menu. Initial install was version 1., but this would not detect my VX5600 phone. (Watch for hidden windows awaiting your response: minimize every window, then move the install window to reveal hidden window) Most of this was during install of 7 device drivers. I took 15 minutes to download with my 1Mbps Verizon Mobile Broadband EVDO-A service. With the VX5600, only pictures are supported, not music. Have not tried to find it yet.įancy that! Here's more details I found out: No idea why LG provides a "modem driver", or why Verizon has no applications for data transfer while suggesting that a data cable might be used in the phone micro USB port.Īn LG Community Forum item suggests that the free "V Cast Media Manager" utility could transfer pictures and videos between VX5600 and a PC. Was able to get picture under 'LG-VX9100' phone type, COM port 6, but had to look in File System view in brew/mod/1088 folder. Win XP SP3 sees phone as modem with LG driver installed.īitPim web site - Cell Phone/PC data transfer program that sees phone on PC with LG driver installed, but without LG VX5600 support.

LG Cell Phone help at 1-80 - No software application information, and no "compatible accessories" information. Verizon Cell Phone Help at 1-86 - No information on "compatible accessories" or applications or drivers. No "compatible accessories", and no information about the use of the USB port except for charging. Index - No mention of a "Data Cable" or "USB". Pg 122 - Accessories Vehicle Power Charger, USB Cable are both described as charging equipment, but no other "compatible accessories" use. NOTE Please make sure that the 'B' side faces up before inserting a charger or data cable into the charger port of your phone. Accessory/Charger Port Connects the phone to the battery charger, or other compatible accessories.
